Independence Day

The 4th of July is always a fun and eventful day for our family. We started the day off by going to the local parade. The kids had a blast catching the candy, seeing all their cousins, and celebrating our independence. This year's parade was special because uncle Jeremy was driving one of the city's fire trucks. After the parade we all got to go back to the fire station to see where uncle Jeremy works. The kids enjoyed trying on the fire fighters suite and seeing inside the fire trucks. Jeremy even let Deonjahy turn on the sirens, the kids all loved that. Later on that afternoon we went to the park and met up with more family and friends. Once it got dark out we went to go watch the fireworks. Parking the car and finding a spot is always a challenge every year. Dan and I were able to find the perfect parking area where were able to pull in and out with no problems. We watched the fireworks from Layton Highs football field. It was a long but exciting day, HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Sleepy time...

IT WAS THE WEEKEND SO THE BOYS ASKED ME IF THEIR COUSINS COULD SPEND THE NIGHT. LETS JUST SAY IT WAS A FULL HOUSE WITH TONI, JASMINE, AND MALIK. FOR DINNER WE ORDERED PIZZA AND LATER WATCHED A MOVIE, THEN EVERYONE FELL ASLEEP. THE NEXT MORNING WE HAD BACON, EGGS, AND PANCAKES FOR BREAKFAST. DAN, TONI, JASMINE, AND MYSELF PLAYED SOME ROCK BAND THEN WE TOOK EVERYONE HOME. IT WAS NICE TO HAVE FAMILY COME TO OUR HOME TO HAVE A SLEEP OVER WITH THE BOYS.

Easter Sunday...

The kids couldn't sleep in this Sunday morning. They woke up before the sun came up, overly excited to see what the Easter bunny had brought them. DeVante got his bowing arrow that he'd been wanting. His superman Easter basket was also stuffed with lots of eggs and goodies. Deonjahy's gift from the Easter bunny was his very own tool box. Now he can stop trying to use daddy's tools. For Deon seeing all that candy inside his Elmo Easter basket was like a dream come true. Went spent the rest of the morning coloring our eggs, then we headed to the Johnson's house. All the kids got to do their Easter egg hunt. Before we sat down to our lovely meal, DeVante had some kind and wonderful words to say during prayer. Mrs. Boggs a long time friend of the family had past away that morning. Also aunt Michelle had been in and out of the hospital that week, so DeVante had some nice things to say about the both of them. We had a great dinner with them, then it was off to grandma Sharon's house. There the kids got to enjoy yet another egg hunt. Grandma Sharon gave the boys both 2 dollar bills with the Easter bunny in the middle of the bill. Overall it was a long yet eventful day!

I scream you scream...

Ice Cream day was a hit at Baskin Robins! Getting together with family is fun, but when ice cream is involved it make it that much cooler. Dan wanted to try all 31 flavors, but his belly could only handle eating 4 scoops. It just so happened that right next to the ice cream pallor was the fire department doing a fundraiser. They had a mascot that was a dog in a fireman outfit talking to the kids. Also the fire department was doing face painting for the kids. DeVante was so excited to get his face painted. Of course Deonjahy's favorite part was eating the ice cream. We placed our donation then headed home. It was a great family outing that the whole family enjoyed!

Dan, the ingenuity man...

I don't think there is anything my fiancĂ©e Dan can't do. Even if Dan is trying something for the first time, he will be determined to figure it out how to be the best at. He is such a talented and smart man, that no wonder I'm going to marry him. Maintaining our cars is not his favorite thing to do, but he's good at it and save us a lot of money that way. What he does love to work on are computers. He has taken our computers completely apart and then will them back together, in better condition then they once were. "Chief boy-r-D," is what Dan's name should be. Cooking is also a hobby of his and he is excellent at it. He enjoys cooking his favorite dish......for his family and friends. Dan the man is truly an understatement!

DeVante, the entertainer...

Ever since DeVante was an infant he has been an entertainer. Always wanting to put a smile on people faces is what I'd say is DeVante's goal. I remember once at a family/friend BBQ there was music playing and just when the room was quite DeVante stood in the middle of everyone and starting break dancing. He instantly had a crowd, the group was laughing and cheering him on. DeVante is anything but shy, he has a very out going personality and such a beautiful ora about him. DeVante will light up a room with just his presence and that loving smile of his.

Deonjahy, the candy man...

Every single minute of the day Deonjahy thinks about junk food. The first things he ask for when he wakes up are donuts and ring pops. "Candy Pieces," is Deonjahy's favorite saying. When he eats cereal for breakfast he wont take a bite unless he has his sauces. "Sauces" to Deon is what we call sugar. He my have a sweet tooth but he also has a sweet heart.
